Vinicius Jr Issues Sincere Sorry to Real Madrid Supporters
The attacker has netted five strikes in 10 La Liga appearances so far this term.
The Madrid giants attacker Vinicius Jr has expressed regret to supporters for his reaction when substituted in Sunday's heated El Clasico victory.
Vinicius was substituted in the 72nd minute and showed his annoyance by walking immediately down the tunnel.
He eventually reappeared to the sidelines and, following his side's 2-1 win, tried to confront Barcelona's youngster Yamal during unsavoury final whistle scenes.
"This day I want to say sorry to all the Madridistas for my reaction when I was substituted in the derby," he posted on X.
"Just as I have already done during this morning's session, I wish to apologise again to my teammates, the team, and the club president.
"Occasionally fervor gets the better of me because I continuously aim to win and assist my team. My winning mentality originates in the love I have for this team and all it symbolizes."
Vinicius signed for Madrid from his former club in the year 2018 for £38.7m and has notched over a century of strikes in more than 300 games.
But his future in the Madrid is unclear with reports in the past few months suggesting that Los Blancos would contemplate allowing the player move on if they obtained a suitable offer.
When the winger was replaced on that day, cameras from coverage provider the service recorded him saying: "It's always me! I'm leaving the team! It's preferable if I depart, I'm moving on."
In his new statement on X, the athlete commented: "I vow to keep fighting at all times for the welfare of Los Blancos, as I have acted since the very beginning."
